DESCRIPTION
The Marsh Flexible Goal Pegs are a simple, yet amazingly effective goal anchoring system. They were designed with a flexibility that allows the net to move when jostled, but remain on the pegs during regular play. Upon strong impact, such as a player crashing into the net, the net will pop off the pegs and prevent injury to the player. There are many professional hockey leagues in North America, including the NCAA, who recommend Marsh Pegs as the goal anchoring system of their choice. Invented and Patented by Fred Marsh in 1984, these have been used in the NHL since 1991 and the Winter Olympics since 1998.
- The Marsh Peg or Flexible Urethane Pin are recommended for competitive hockey with players Bantam age group and above. Younger players may not be strong enough to release net upon impact which can cause injury.
- The pegs will bend when the net is bumped, then return to their original position.
- Do not break-away at ice level.
- 4 sizes for different insert I.D. (in concrete).
- Your choice of size will depend on the diameter of the hole you will insert the peg into.
- Built with players safety in mind.
- Marsh Pegs have been used in the National Hockey League since 1991 and in the Olympics since 1998.
Please Note: Measurements for the Pegs are Outside Diameter.
USAGE
Installation of Marsh Pegs:
- As noted, Marsh Peg Inserts are required in order to use Marsh Peg Goal Frame Anchors.
- Install Marsh inserts flush with the finished floor.
- Size of inserts required:
- 1-7/8 in pegs require inserts 2 in inside diameter x 3-3/4 in deep (for professional hockey only).
- 1-3/8 in pegs require inserts 1-1/2 in inside diameter x 3-3/4 in deep.
- 13/16 in pegs require inserts 1 in inside diameter x 3-3/4 in deep.
- Pegs are designed to fit loosely in the inserts and net. If they are too snug snow may pack around the peg and cause them to freeze in.
