Lethbridge, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club is pleased to announce that former Hurricane and 14-year NHLer Bryce Salvador will be headlining the 10th Annual Sports Celebrity Dinner and Auction.
The Dinner will take place on Friday, January 22nd, 2016 at the Coast Hotel and Conference Centre. Doors will open at 6:00pm with cocktails and dinner will be at 7:00pm. A silent auction will be held throughout the evening with a live auction later in the night. Just For Laughs comedian Kelly Taylor will be the Master of Ceremonies for the event.
Tickets are available for $1,000.00 for a table of 10 and $125.00 per person. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, December 14th, 2015 at the Hurricanes Office or by calling (403) 328-1986.
The following night, Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 when the Hurricanes host the Moose Jaw Warriors, the hockey club will celebrate the wonderful career of Salvador with “Bryce Salvador Night”.
Salvador spent five seasons as a member of the Lethbridge Hurricanes from 1992 to 1997. He appeared in 308 games collecting 89 points (18g-71a) along with 309 penalty minutes. The Brandon, MB, product sits fourth all-time in games played by a Hurricane and is one of just four players to reach the 300 game plateau.
Salvador was a crucial member of the 1996-1997 WHL Championship Hurricanes as he registered his best offensive output of his junior career tallying 40 points (8g-32a) in 63 games that season. In five Memorial Cup games, he scored one goal.
He would go on to play 14 seasons in the National Hockey League, seven years with the St. Louis Blues and seven years with the New Jersey Devils, where he would appeared in 786 games scoring 110 points (25g-86a) along with 696 penalty minutes before retiring in 2015. Salvador served as Captain of the Devils from 2012 until his retirement. He helped New Jersey to the 2012 Stanley Cup Final.
