Regulation hockey goal frame, netting and padding details

Hockey Goal Buying Guide

A 72 by 48 inch opening describes the goal opening. It does not, by itself, identify the complete frame, depth, netting, padding or anchoring configuration. Use the product specifications and your facility requirements to choose the complete setup.

Regulation Size and NHL Specification

Confirm more than the width and height when comparing a recreational training goal with an arena goal. Check the frame construction, depth, netting, cushions, protector, anchoring and the intended use. A regulation-size opening alone does not make two products equivalent.

On this product, several choices carry the NHL Specification label, including the 40 inch base depth, resin-coated netting and red-and-white frame option. Specify the choices you require rather than assuming every optional upgrade comes with the base configuration.

Netting and Padding

The product includes bottom and back-post cushions, a net protector and twine. Standard 6mm knotless netting and the optional resin-coated 6mm version are different selections. The current product options identify resin coating as an upgrade. Professional pre-stringing is also optional.

Freight and Facility Planning

The goal requires pallet freight. The product notes that two goals may fit on one pallet, so ask for freight pricing for your required quantity. Confirm unloading access and the delivery location when requesting your quote. Typical shipping is currently listed as 4 to 8 weeks; the official quote should confirm the schedule.

Anchoring is a separate decision. Match it to your ice, facility and intended use, and confirm compatibility before ordering. See the goal and anchor range.

What to Include in Your Quote Request

  • Number of goals and delivery location.
  • Base depth, post colour and netting selection.
  • Net protector and stringing preference.
  • Any anchoring requirements and the required delivery date.
