ProWall board systems installed at outdoor and covered rinks

ProWall Buying Guide

Start with the playing surface, temperature and whether the boards will move between uses. Standard ProWall, ProWall ICE and padded systems solve different facility needs. xHockeyProducts quotes the selected system, layout and freight for your project.

Standard ProWall or ProWall ICE

Standard ProWall is listed for indoor or warm climate outdoor use. ProWall ICE uses a low-temperature resin for freezing conditions. The product guidance recommends ICE when ice presses against the boards, or frozen rubber pucks are used near or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit or 0 degrees Celsius.

Describe those conditions in your request. Do not choose a material from the indoor or outdoor label alone.

Board Height and Rink Layout

Standard and ICE systems use 42 inch high boards. Layouts can be specified in 2 ft, 4 ft or 8 ft increments. The listed examples include 20 by 40 ft, 49 by 99 ft, 60 by 120 ft, 72 by 140 ft, 85 by 200 ft and 100 by 200 ft. Provide the available dimensions and any obstructions so the layout can be quoted for your space.

Rounded, mitered and square corner options are listed. Confirm the corner configuration and access requirements rather than assuming the same corner works for every rink width.

Portable or Fixed Anchoring

Portable systems use bracing panels. Semi-permanent anchoring is listed for concrete installations with at least 5 inches of concrete. Permanent anchoring uses galvanized poles installed in the ground. Have the project surface and anchoring requirements reviewed before ordering or installing.

Gates and Upper Containment

Specify player, equipment and accessibility access requirements when requesting a layout. Upper containment is separate from the base board system. Depending on the configuration, options include netting, acrylic or chain-link fencing. Player and timekeeper areas and benches are quoted separately.

Freight and Installation

These systems ship by freight. Installation time depends on the layout, anchoring, upper containment and available crew. Include delivery access, the project location and your target date in the quote request. Confirm installation responsibilities and site preparation before finalising the order.
